Honestly, I've always been the type to just jump into a book if the blurb sounds good, or I'll pick one solely based on cover vibes. I tend to value every read, even if I don't enjoy the book, it's a good exercise for me to analyze whether it's a craft thing or a personal thing. But because of that, I tend to never seek out reviews. I've been trying to be better about understanding the review culture and see how others rate books, and in doing so, figure out how I would rate books. I think I've decided that I prefer to not seek out reviews before reading books, but I do enjoy challenging myself to think about how I might rate books that might not be the best craft example but I love them and then books that are objectively good, but I just don't vibe with them.
